WOMEN WORTH KNOWING AWARD
Date: March 14, 2003
March is Women's History Month, and, as in previous years, the Miami Beach Commission
on the Status of Women will celebrate the event with a reception in honor of four women in
our community whose outstanding works have made a difference to the lives of people in
Miami Beach. The award was voted on recently by the Miami Beach Commission on the
Status of Women. A list of the four honorees and a brief summary of their major
accomplishments is attached.
The Committee, along with the City of Miami Beach will hold a reception in honor of this
event on Monday March 31, 2003 at 6:30 p.m. at the Jackie Gleason Theater of the
Performing Arts.
During the reception each honoree will be presented with a Certificate of Appreciation from
the City of Miami Beach and will have the opportunity to highlight her major
accomplishments regarding her work in the community.
We hope that you will be able to attend this important event. Please RSVP to Lisa Dixon at
(305) 673-7010 by March 12 if you plan to attend. If you have any questions or need
additional information, please contact me.

the advisory board for the girls' advocacy project, a new intervention program to help girls
