RESOLUTION NO. 8769
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ADOPTING A BUDGET
FOR THE SAID CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING
SEPTEMBER 30, 1955.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
that:
WHEREAS, the City Tax Assessor of said City has notified this body that
the amount of the sum total of taxable property in said City of Miami Beach,
Dade County, Florida, for the tax year of 1954 is Three Hundred Fifty Nine
Million, Five Hundred Forty Thousand, Seven Hundred Fifty and 00/100 Dollars,
($359,540,750.00), which, however, includes Three Hundred Forty Seven
Thousand, Fifty and 00100 Dollars ($347,050.00) in Widow's, Veteran's and
Disability Exemptions, leaving a working gross assessed valuation of Three
Hundred Fifty Nine Million, One Hundred Ninety Three Thousand, Seven
Hundred and 00/100 Dollars ($359,193,700.00) which total is subject to an
allowance of Twenty Three Million, Two Hundred Thirty Three Thousand, One
Hundred and 00/100 Dollars ($23,233,100.00) for Homestead Exemptions,
pursuant to the provisions of an Act known as "Senate Bill No. 123," adopt-
ed by the State Legislature in 1935 and as amended, leaving a net assessed
valuation of Three Hundred Thirty Five Million, Nine Hundred Sixty Thous-
and, Six Hundred and 00/100 Dollars ($335,960,600.00):
THEREFORE, in conformity with Section 43 of the City Charter of said City,
the City Council has ascertained the amount of the money needed for each
department and makes the following estimate to be raised by taxes on all
of the taxable property in the said City for the year A. D. 1954, namely:
