A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, CALLING FOR AN
ELECTION AT WHICH THERE SHALL BE SUBMITTED
TO A VOTE THE MATTEH OF ISSUANCE OF BONDS OF
SAID CITY IN THE SUM OF $ 3,500,000.00
FOR THE PURPOSE IN THIS RESOLUTIOR STATED.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, deems it advisable to issue bonds of said City in
the amount and for the municipal purpose set forth in the
election notice provided for in Section 6 of the following
resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY CuUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That, subject to the authorization of the duly
registered and qualified voters of said City, who
are freeholders therein, participating in the election according
to law, which is hereinafter called, negotiable coupon bonds of
the City of Miami Beach, Florida, shall be issued in the sum
and for the purpose stated in the Notice of Election provided for
in Section 6 of this resolution.
SECTION 2. That a special election is hereby called and
directed to be held in the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, from 7:00 o' clock A. M. until 7: 00 o'clock P. M.
on the 8th day of May, A. D. 1956, for the purpose of submitting
to a vote of the duly registered and qualified voters of said
City, who are freeholders therein, the question whether bonds of
said City shall be issued in the sum and for the purpose
stated in the Notice of Election provided for in Section 6 of
this resolution.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk, who is also the Superviser
of Registration, open the books of said City
from 9:00 o' clock A. M. until 5:00 o' clock P. M. each day,
Sundays and-Holidays excepted, from March 29th, 1956 to
April 2J,st, 1956, both inclusive, for the purpose of registering
those electors who are qualified to register for this election,
and after said April 21st, 1956, no elector shall be registered
for said election.
SECTION 4. For the purpose of holding and conducting said
election, the City of Miami Beach has been
divided into voting precincts or election districts with
polling places therein as follows:
PRECINCT NO. 25-A: Being the area within the City of Miami Beach
lying between the North line of the corporate
limits of the City of Miami Beach ON THE NORTH and a line ON THE
SOUTH running westerly from the Atlantic Ocean along the center
line of 71st Street to the center line of Indian Creek; thence
northerly along the center line of Indian Creek to the center
line of Normandy Waterway; thence westerly along the center line
of Normandy waterway to Biscayne Bayss i�}�a�4�-ling Place of which

PRECINCT NO. 25-B: Being the area within the City of Miami Beach
lying between the South line of Precinct No,
25-A ON THE NORTH and the center line of 51st Street ON THE SOUTH,
the Polling Place of which shall be at the 69TH STREET FIRE STATION,
situated at 6860 Indian Creek Drive,
PRECINCT NO, 26: Being the aea within the City of Miami Beach
lying between the South line of Precinct
No. 25-B ON THE NORTH and a line ON THE SuUTH running westerly from
the Atlantic Ocean along the center line of 34th Street to Biscayne
Waterway, thence westerly along the center line of Biscayne waterway
to Biscayne Bay, the Polling Place of which shall be at the NORTH
BEACH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, situated on the northeast corner of the
intersection of Arthur Godfrey-Road._(41st Street ) and Chase Avenue .
PRECINCT NO, 27: Being the area within the City of Miami Beach
lying between the South line of Precinct No. 26
ON THE NORTH, and a line ON THE SOUTH running westerly from the
Atlantic Ocean along the center line of 23rd Street to Dade Boulevard,
thence along the center line of Dade Boulevard to Biscayne Bay,
also including Belle Isle, Rivo Alto Island, Di Lido Island and
San Marino Island, the rolling glace of which shall be at the DADE
BOULEVARD FIRE STATIuN, situated on the northwest corner of the
intersection of Dade Boulevard and eine Tree Drive,
PRECINCT NO. 28: Being the area within the City of Miami Beach
lying between the South line of Precinct No, 27
ON THE NORTH and a line ON THE SOUTH running westerly from the
Atlantic Ocean along the center line of 15th Street to Bay Road,
thence South along the center line of Bay Road to 14th Street,
thence West along the center line of 14th Street to Biscayne Bay,
the rolling Place of whic ddbe at the east entrance of the
MUNICi.PAL OFFICE BUILDING th Street and Drexel Avenue.
PRECINCT NO, 29: Being the area within the City of Miami Beach
lying between the South line of Precinct No. 28
ON THE NORTH and a line ON THE SOUTH running westerly from the
Atlantic Ocean to Biscayne Bay along the center line of 11th
Street and said line produced, the Polling Place of which shall
be at the FIRE STATION IN THE CITY HALL BUILDING, situated on
12th Street between washington Avenue and Drexel Avenue,
PRECINCT NO. 30: Being the area within the City of Miami Beach
lying between the South line of Precinct No, 29
ON THE NORTH and a line ON THE SOUTH running westerly from the
Atlantic Ocean along the center line of 7th Street to Alton Road,
thence South along the center line of Alton Road to 6th Street,
thence westerly along the center line of 6th Street to Biscayne
Bay, the 4/4,4parlrlace of which shall be at the OCEAN FRONT
AUDITORIU a th Street and Ocean Drive.
PRECINCT NO. 31: Being the area within the City of Miami. Beach
lying between the South line of Precinct No, 30,
ON THE NORTH and a line ON THE SOUTH running westerly from the
Atlantic Ocean along the center .line of 3rd Street to Alton Road, thence
along the south line of Lot 32 in Block 111 of Ocean Beach Addition
No. 3, to Biscayne Bay, also including Star Island, palm Island
and Hibiscus Island, the rolling Place of which shall be at the
SOUTH BEACH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, situated between Third and Fourth
Streets on Alton Road.
PRECINCT NO. 32: Being all the area within the City of Miami Beach
lying South of the South line of Precinct No. 31,
also including the Causeway property and the islands south of the
County Causeway, the rolling Place140 shall be at the SOUTH
SHORE ?ARK RECREATION CENTER BUILD ,on 1scayne Street at Biscayne
Bay,

All being places where elections are usually held in said
municipality.
All electors shall vote at the Polling Places in the voting
precincts in which the City Registration Books show that said
electors reside.
SECTION 5. That thirty days" notice of said election shall be
given by publication in the Miami Beach Sun, a news-
paper published in the City of Miami Beach, Florida. Such publi-
cation shall be made at least once each week for four consecutive
weeks during said period of thirty days,
SECTION 6. That the Notice of Election shall be substantially
in the following form:
"CITY OF MIAs I BEACH, FLORIDA
NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION.
NOTICE is hereby given that an election has been
called by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, and will be held in said City from seven o' clock
A. M. until seven o' clock P. M. on the 8th day of May,
A. D. 1956, at which there shall be submitted to the duly
registered and qualified voters of said City, who are
freeholders therein, the following question:
Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida
issue negotiable coupon bonds in the amount
of 4p 3,500,000.00, with interest
at a rate hereafter to be determined, not
exceeding 3i% per annum, for the purpose of
constructing an Exhibition Hall?
For the purpose of holding and conducting said election,
the City of Miami Beach has been divided into voting
precincts or election districts with Polling Places
therein as follows:
PRECINCT NO, 25-A: Being the area within the City of
Miami Beach lying between the
North line of the corporate limits of the City of
Miami Beach ON THE NORTH and a line ON THE SuUTH
running westerly from the Atlantic Ocean along the
center line of 71st Street to the center line of

center line of 51st Street ON THE SOUTH, the Polling
Place of which shall be at the 69TH STR 7T FIRE STATION,
situated at 6860 Indian Creek Drive.
PRECINCT NO. 26: Being the area within the City of Miami
Beach lying between the South line of
Precinct No, 25-B ON THE NORTH and a line ON THE SOUTH
running westerly from the Atlantic Ocean along the center
line of 34th Street to Biscayne waterway, thence westerly
along the center line of Biscayne waterway to Biscayne
Bay, the Polling Place of which shall be at the NORTH

PRECINCT NO. 27: Being the area within the City of Miami
Beach lying between the South line of
Precinct No. 26, ON THE NOttTH, and a line ON THE SOUTH
running westerly from the Atlantic Ocean along the center
line of 23rd Street to Dade Boulevard, thence along the
center line of Dade Boulevard to Biscayne Bay, also

Precinct No, 27 ON THE NORTH and a line ON TEE SOUTH running
westerly from the Atlantic Ocean along the center line of
15th Street to Bay Road, thence South along the center line
of Bay Road to 114.th Street, thence west along the center
line of 114.th Street to Biscayne Bay, the Polling Place
of which shallsttugteakhe east entranceof the MUNICIPAL
OFFICE BUILDING/at 17th Street and Drexel Avenue.
PRECINCT NO. 29: Being the area within the City of Miami
Beach lying between the South line of
Precinct No. 28 ON THE NORTH and a line ON THE SOUTH
running westerly from the Atlantic Ocean to Biscayne Bay
along the center line of 11th Street and said line produced,
the Polling Place of which shall be at the FIRE STATION
IN THE CITY HALL BUILDING, situated on 12th Street between
Washington Avenue and Drexel Avenue.
PRECINCT NO. 30: Being the area within the City of Miami
Beach lying between the South line of
Precinct No. 29 ON THE NORTH and a line ON THE SOUTH running
westerly from the Atlantic Ocean along the center line of
7th Street to Alton Road, thence South along the center line
of Alton Road to 6th Street, thence westerly along the center
line of 6th Street to Biscayne Bay, the Poll u e of
which shall be at the OCEAN FRuNT AUDITORIUM�at lith Street
and Ocean Drive.
PRECINCT NO, 31: Being the area within the City of Miami
Beach lying between the South line of
Precinct No. 30, ON THE NORTH and a line ON THE SOUTH running
westerly from the Atlantic Ocean along the center line of
3rd Street to Alton Road, thence along the south line of

1956, both inclusive, for the registration of persons
qualified to register for said election.

but shall be on separate paper ballots; the
form of ballot to be used in said election to be
in substantially the following form:

SECTION 8. That a special annual tax upon all taxable property
within the City of Miami Beach, over and above all
other taxes authorized or limited by law, or by the Charter of
the City, sufficient to pay the interest and the principal of the

shall be and is hereby levied,
SECTION 9. This resolution shall be effective immediately
upon its passage and adoption, as required by law,
