Resolution 9333 RESOLUTION NO. 9333
WHEREAS, the State Road Department of Florida has
made application to the Department of the Army for a permit
to construct a crossing in Biscayne Bay from the foot of
36th Street in Miami to the foot of 41st Street in Miami
Beach, Florida, and
WHEREAS, said crossing will provide for six lanes
of traffic, and
WHEREAS, said crossing will be provided with a
fixed bridge of ninety feet horizontal clearance and a fifty-
five foot vertical clearance above mean low water across the
Intracoastal waterway and a fixed bridge of seventy-five feet
horizontal clearance and thirty-five feet of vertical clearance
above mean low water over an auxiliary channel (to be dredged)
on the easterly side of Biscaye Bay, and
WHEREAS, this crossing is of vital importance to
the traveling public of Dade County, Florida,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Miami Beach favors the granting of the permit
and recommends that the Department of the Army approve the same .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Miami Beach
enter its appearance as an interested party at the public
hearing to be held on said application, and that Morris Lipp,
City Engineer and Assistant City Manager, be and he is hereby
authorized and directed to attend said hearing as the duly
authorized representative of the City of Miami Beach.
