SUBJECT: CIP Monthly Construction Proje s Update
Below please find the monthly update for active City of Miami Beach construction projects under
the purview of the Office of Capital Improvement Projects.
Altos Del Mar Park
Scope: Park Improvements include new landscape, irrigation, site lighting, volleyball
courts, walkways, terraced lawn, accessible playground, restroom, and storage facility.
Status: Construction began April 2018. Project completion anticipated October 2018.
Project is 40% complete
Beach Lifeguard Towers Replacement
Scope: Construction of 35 lifeguard towers.
Status: Construction began March 2015. Twenty-two towers have been completed and
placed at their permanent location. Seven additional towers are currently under
construction. Five of the towers were placed at their permanent location August 2018
and the remaining two will be placed October 2018.
Beachwalk II — Phase 2
Scope: Construction of an on-grade ADA compliant pedestrian paver walkway running
from 3rd Street to 5th Street, with turtle friendly lighting, landscaping and irrigation.
Status: Construction began March 2018 and is scheduled for completion December
2018. Project is 45% complete
Biscayne Point Island Entry
Scope: Beautification project of the neighborhood entryway to Biscayne Point Island.
Status: Project is substantially complete. Contractor is addressing punch list items.
Carl Fisher Clubhouse Restoration
Scope: Historical restoration of the Carl Fisher Clubhouse (Interior and Exterior). This
project is part of the Convention Center Renovation Project.
Status: Project was awarded at the July 25th Commission Meeting. Contract is currently
being executed.

Collins Park Parking Garage
Scope: Demolition of existing structure and construction of a new parking facility which
consists of a six (6) level parking garage with 513 parking spaces and approximately
15,000 SF of retail spaces at the ground level.
Status: Design is 70% complete. Demolition is complete. Site remediation is in process.
Project is scheduled for completion October 2019.
Central Bayshore South Neighborhood Improvements
Scope: Neighborhood improvements bounded by 34th St. to the north, Pine Tree Dr. to
the east, 28 St. to the south and Prairie Ave to the west and Meridian Ave from 28 St. to
Dade Blvd.
Status: Water main installation is complete. Drainage design is currently at 75%. The
Urban Land Institute Advisory Services Panel has recently completed a review of the
City's stormwater management program. The project will continue to move forward
following direction from the City Commission based on the panel's recommendations
and best practices.
Espanola Way Bollards
Scope: Installation of protective bollards at each end of Espanola Way (Washington
Avenue and Drexel Avenue).
Status: Construction began June 11, 2018. Project is scheduled for completion late
September 2018.
Flamingo Park Handball Courts
Scope: Renovation of existing handball courts to include various electrical upgrades,
new general lighting, stucco repairs, court resurfacing, new frameless windows and
doors and new fencing and painting. The courts will also include seating areas and water
drinking fountains for players and visitors.
Status: Project was awarded at the July 25`h Commission Meeting. Contract is currently
being executed.
Flamingo Park Masterplan Improvements-Phase I
Scope: Park wide renovations to include landscape, irrigation & drainage improvements,
as well as addition and renovation of walkways and pedestrian lighting.
Status: Project was awarded at the September 12, 2018 Commission Meeting. Contract
is currently being executed.
Fleet Management Seawall
Scope: Complete replacement of approximately 200 feet of seawall, concrete slab,
staircase with railing and a small portion of fence to protect upland structures.
Status: Construction began late June 2017 as an emergency repair. Project is
substantially complete and currently in the process of closing out permits.
Middle Beach Recreational Corridor Ph. 2 - Section 1 (Beachwalk)
Scope: Construction of an on-grade pedestrian walkway encompassing eleven (11) City
blocks from 53 Street to 64 Street.
Status: Construction began July 2017. Project is 80% complete and is scheduled for
completion late October 2018.
Middle Beach Recreational Corridor Ph. 2 — Section 2 (Beachwalk)
Scope: Construction of an on-grade pedestrian walkway encompassing eight (8) City

blocks from 46 St to 53 St.
Status: Construction began March 2018. Project is 25% complete and scheduled for
completion February 2019.
Miami Beach Tennis Center Renovation
Scope: Renovation/expansion of the North Shore Tennis Center Building. The current
building will be enclosed to create a dedicated entrance and indoor space.
Status: Construction began June 18, 2018. Project is 95% complete and scheduled for
completion mid-September 2018.
Palm & Hibiscus Island Neighborhood Improvements
Scope: Neighborhood improvements on Palm and Hibiscus Islands.
Status: Construction began January 2016. Project is 90% complete and scheduled for
completion December 2018.
Stormwater Pump Station at 19th Street
Scope: Installation of a stormwater pump station, including an emergency generator and
seawall reconstruction along Collins canal.
Status: Construction of the pump station and seawall began January 2018. Project is
80% complete and scheduled for completion late November 2018.
Sunset Islands 3 & 4 Neighborhood Improvements
Scope: Neighborhood improvements on Sunset Islands 3 & 4.
Status: Construction began June 2015. Project is 98% complete and scheduled for
completion September 2018.
Surface Parking Lot P2 — Nikki Beach (Penrods)
Scope: Reconstruction of the parking lot that includes landscaping, turtle friendly lighting,
improvements to storm water drainage, irrigation, paving and signage, and infrastructure
for future electric car charging stations.
Status: Construction began May 1, 2018 and according to the last schedule submitted by
the contractor the project should be finalized in late January 2019. Project is 15%
complete.
Venetian Islands Neighborhood Improvements
Scope: Neighborhood improvements on San Marino, Dilido and Rivo Alto Islands.
Status: Construction began May 2013. Project is 90% complete. San Marino Island and
Dilido Island anticipated completion October 2018; and Rivo Alto Island anticipated
completion November 2018.
Venetian Islands Seawall Improvements
Scope: Seawall replacement at two locations, and seawall improvements (raising) at five
locations.
Status: Project was awarded at the July 25th Commission Meeting. Contract is currently
being executed.
West Avenue Phase II Improvements - North of 14th Street
Scope: Neighborhood Right of Way improvements north of 14th Street to Lincoln Lane.
Status: Notice to Proceed #1 was issued July 31, 2017. Currently design is at 60%
development. The Urban Land Institute Advisory Services Panel has recently completed
a review of the City's stormwater management program. The project will continue to

move forward following direction from the City Commission based on the panel's
recommendations and best practices. Additionally, the project was selected by a
partnership between 100 Resilient Cities and Columbia University, to be included in the
Resilience Accelerator program. The Resilience Accelerator workshop was held August
6-8, 2018. Preliminary recommendations from the workshop were presented to the West
Avenue Neighborhood Association on September 4th and will be presented to North of
Fifth Neighborhood Association on September 20th. The Workshop recommendations
will also be presented to the Sustainability and Resiliency Committee on September 26th
and to Commission on October 17th
