A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, MAKING A TAX LEVY
FOR THE TAX YEAR 1958, AND FIXING THE MILLAGE
ON REAL AND PEhSONAL PROPERTY IN SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, has
been notified of the amount of the sum total of the taxable property in
the City of Miami Beach, and
WHEREAS, the said City Council has ascertained the amount of money
needed for each department, and
WHEREAS, the said estimate has been submitted to the City Manager
of the City of Miami Beach, and his recommendations having been received
and deemed proper by the said City Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That there be, and the same is hereby levied, a tax for the
year A, D, 1958, on all real and personal property located
within the corporate limits of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, as
follows:
(A) For the purpose of carrying on the Government or Administration and
Finance Department of said City and to provide funds for the support
and maintenance of the different City departments, as follows: Mayor and
Council; Purchasing Department; City Manager's Office; Personnel Depart-
ment and Pension Board; City Clerk and Collector's Office; Court Clerk's
Office and Traffic Violations Bureau; Election and Registration; Tax
Assessor; Department of Law; Fire Department; Police Department; Parking
Meter Enforcement; Beach Patrol; Engineering Department; Streets and
Bridges; Sewers; Waste Disposal and Collection; Lighting City; Park
Department; Lot Mowing and Cleaning; Building Inspection; Maintenance
Public Buildings; Hospitalization of Indigents; Medical Department;
Psychologist; Social Services; Playgrounds; Community Centers; Normandy
Shores Golf Course; Bay Shore Golf Course; Miami Beach Public Library;
Miami Beach Art Center; Water Department; Auditorium; Exhibition Hall
& TV Shows; Stores--Shop and Garage Fund; Central Stores; Pensions;
Capital Outlay and Extraordinary Repairs; Miscellaneous unclassified
items as shown in Budget Resolution No, 9808 ; and a reserve tax dis-
counts and abatements and for uncollected taxes, Fourteen and Seventy-
three One Hundredths (1 +.73) Mills on the dollar of the taxable cash
value of all of said property in said City, with the exception of such
properties as have been allowed a Homestead Exemption, pursuant to the
provisions of an Act known as "Senate Bill #123", adopted by the State
Legislature in 1935, and as later amended, and with the exception of that
property exempted for widows, veterans and disability.
(B) For the purpose of providing a Publicity Fund and a reserve for
discounts and abatements, One (1) Mill on the dollar of the taxable
cash value of all of said property in said City, with the exception of such
properties as have been allowed a Homestead Exemption, pursuant to the
provisions of an Act known as "Senate Bill #123", adopted by the State
Legislature in 1935, and as later amended, and with the exception of that
property exempted for widows, veterans and disability.
(C) For the purpose of paying principal and interest due on all outstand-
ing bonds of said City that were issued prior to the passage of the Home-
stead Exemption Act, and for a reserve for tax discounts and abatements
and for uncollected taxes, Sixteen One-Hundredths ( .16) of One Mill on
the dollar of the taxable cash value of all property in said City with
the exception of that property exempted for widows, veterans and dis-
ability.

(D) For the purpose of paying principal and interest due on all out-
standing bonds and notes of said City that were issued since the
passage of the Homestead Exemption Act, and for a reserve for tax dis-
counts and abatements and for uncollected taxes One and Eighty-six
One Hundredths (1.86) Mills on the dollar of the taxable cash value
of all of said property in said City with the exception of that property
exempted for widows, veterans and disability, and also with the excep-
tion of such properties as have been allowed a Homestead Exemption, as
explained above.
SECTION 2: That a certified copy of this resolution be delivered to
the following officers of the City, namely: City Manager,
City Tax Assessor, City Auditor and Chief Accountant,
PASSED and ADOPTED this 6th day of August, A. D. 1958.
