Resolution 9853 RESOLUTION NO. 9853
WHEREAS the Metropolitan Dade County Commission has
seen fit to enact ordinances and adopt measures which directly
and immediately affect the welfare and economic well-being of the
City of Miami Beach without notice or opportunity to be heard
given to its citizens or their duly elected representatives, and
WHEREAS notice and opportunity to be heard are
elementary principles of a democratic representative form of
government,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH that the Metropolitan Dade
County Commission be and it is hereby requested to defer any
action on any proposed ordinance or other measure directly or
immediately affecting or pertaining to the welfare and well-being
of the City of Miami Beach until after due notice and opportunity
to be heard thereon has been accorded to the City Council of the
City of Miami Beach.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Charles Hall, the member
of said Commission representing the District including the City
of Miami Beach be and he is hereby requested to take all steps
necessary to defer action by said Metropolitan Dade County
Commission on all such measures until such notice and opportunity
to be heard has been fairly accorded; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution
be transmitted by the City Clerk to each member of the Metropolitan
Dade County Commission.
