Morales, City Manager DATE: October 9, 2018 SUBJECT: Landscape Restoration & Enhance ent at Normandy Street Ends The purpose of this LTC is to advise you that as of October 8, 2018, the Public Works Department's Greenspace Management Division completely restored the landscaping located at the street ends of the Normandy area, which were devastated during Hurricane Irma in 2017. In the aftermath of Hurricane Irma, the following Normandy area street ends (`pocket-parks') sustained significant damage to its vegetation and hardscape elements: • Rue Granville & Bay Rd. Street end • Trouville Esplanade & Bay Rd. Street end • Rue Bordeaux & Bay Rd. Street end • Rue Notre Dame & Bay Rd. Street end Greenspace Management took the opportunity to restore the landscape to its prior condition and addressed residents' and the Miami Beach Police Department's previous concerns. The restoration and enhancement included incorporating a central walkway, re-grading the sites, repairing irrigation, as well as installing new sod, shrubbery, and trees. We are pleased to report that Normandy area residents have expressed their satisfaction with the restoration, and the Division looks forward to continuing to improve the aesthetics and functionality of the green spaces in the neighborhood.
