Resolution 10253 RESOLUTION NO. 10253 WHEREAS the facilities for the care of in-patients existing at Mount Sinai Hospital prior to the completion of the new addition thereto were, and are,, seriously inadequate, thereby gravely hampering and impeding the rendition of proper medical and surgical care and treatment to such patients, and WHEREAS, in order to make the modern facilities and equipment of the new addition of Mount Sinai Hospital available for the proper medical and surgical care and attention for said patients it will be necessary to transfer present patients in the old Mount Sinai Hospital to the new addition thereto, and WHEREAS the cost of such transfer has been computed at $211,000 .00, and WHEREAS approximately 12% of the patients to be so transferred are the care, charge and responsibility of the City of Miami Beach, and WHEREAS Mount Sinai Hospital has made formal request to the City of Miami Beach that the City pay its just and equitable portion of the cost of such transfer, and WHEREAS it is the duty and responsibility of the City of Miami Beach to defray an equitable portion of the cost of the transfer of said patients, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, that the City pay to Mount Sinai Hospital its equitable share of said expenditure, to wit, $24, 665 .90, and the proper disbursing officers of the City are hereby directed to make such payment from Current Unappropriated Funds of the City of Miami Beach.
