Resolution 10380 RESOLUTION NO. 10380
WHEREAS the best interests of the citizens and
residents of the City of Miami Beach require and demand that
it is necessary to build a new Public Library, and
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Miami Beach
has determined that it is necessary to employ an architect to
assist in the planning and execution of the said new public
library, and
WHEREAS the duties of said position require the
possession of special and unique personal qualifications of
knowledge, skill, training and experience, and
WHEREAS A. HERBERT MATHES has established his
possession of the foregoing requisites to the satisfaction of
the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, and
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Miami Beach
has determined that the best interests of the citizens and
residents of the City of Miami Beach require the approval of
the employment of the said A. HERBERT MATHES, and
WHEREAS the City Attorney has prepared an agreement
providing for the employment of the said A. HERBERT MATHES in
the position of Library Architect at a fee of six percent (6%)
of the construction cost of the proposed public library, and
further provisions of which are familiar to the City Council of
the City of Miami Beach,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
of the City of Miami Beach that the Mayor and the City Clerk be
and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute said
agreement for and in behalf of the City of Miami Beach and the
appropriate financial and disbursing officials of the City of
Miami Beach be and they are hereby directed to pay and disburse
the sum or sums to the said A. HERBERT MATHES as specified and
set forth in said agreement.
