ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT CRIME UPDATEENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT UPDATE CITYWIDE NARCOTICS ARRESTS 3 ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT NARCOTICS ARRESTS 4 Current Entertainment District/Ocean Drive Staffing Summary (Through September, 2018) Entertainment District Regular Patrol Staffing (24 hours a day) -Minimum Staffing: 1 Sergeant, 5 Officers per shift - 3 times a day, during shift overlap periods: 2 Sergeants, 10 Officers on patrol - Every 24-hour period; 3 Sergeants, 15 Officers total on patrol Additional Full-Time Personnel, Dedicated Specifically to Ocean Drive: - 2 Lieutenants - 2 Sergeants - 10 Officers 5 Current Entertainment District/Ocean Drive (Cont.) Other Specialized Units (Each dedicating roughly 70 percent of their time to Entertainment District): - Homeless Liaison Unit – 1 Sergeant, 4 Officers, 1 Civilian - Crime Suppression Team – 1 Sergeant, 4 Officers - Special Investigations Unit (Narcotics) - Traffic Enforcement (LPR) Unit – 2 Officers 6 Current Entertainment District/Ocean Drive (Cont.) The “Overlap” Deployment: -26 Officers and Supervisors -Friday – Sunday Evenings -10:15 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. -High visibility/tone setting on Ocean Drive -7th to 11th Streets 7 Current Entertainment District/Ocean Drive (Cont.) - Extraordinary enhanced staffing for all major events, holiday weekends, etc. - Elimination of East Side Parking on Ocean Drive and from certain 100 blocks for all major events, holiday weekends, etc. 8 New Personnel/Initiatives Beginning in October 2018: 1 Command Staff member (Captain) - to supervise all evening/overnight operations;
