Resolution 10690 RESOLUTION NO. 10690
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Metropolitan Dade County Commission
be formally informed and advised by this Resolution that the
City Council of the City of Miami Beach has duly determined
that the location and proposed construction of an oil refinery
in Dade County is grossly incompatible with and gravely inimical
to the prosperity, best interests, well-being and health of
the people of Dade County, and the City of Miami Beach, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, that the Metropolitan Dade County Commission
be formally advised by this Resolution that the City Council
of the City of Miami Beach is gravely concerned and deeply
apprehensive that the certainty of hazards involved in the
construction and operation of an oil refinery in Dade County
Florida grossly exceed any speculative and negligible benefits,
and that the resultant and directly consequent damage caused
by pollution of air and water and injury to health and property
would be incalculable, permanent and irreparable.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 7th day of February, 1962.
