Resolution 10846 RESOLUTION NO. 10846
WHEREAS the City Council is considering amending
Ordinance No. 289, commonly known as the Zoning Ordinance
of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, so that that portion
of Section 1 thereof reading as follows:
"APARTMENT: A dwelling designed for occupancy
otherwise than as a one-family
dwelling, or a two-family dwelling. The term
"Multiple Dwelling" shall be understood to
include apartment houses, bungalow courts,
and all other family dwellings of similar
character, but not to include hotels or
apartment hotels . "
be amended to read as follows:
"APARTMENT: A dwelling designed for occupancy
otherwise than as a one-family
dwelling. One or more rooms occupied as a home
or residence for an individual, or a family,
or a household in which the existence of, or
the installation of, sink accommodations; or
cooking or refrigeration facilities within a room
or suite of rooms shall be deemed sufficient to
classify such room or suite of rooms as an
'Apartment . ' The term 'multiple dwelling' shall
include those spaces in apartment houses, bung-
alow courts, hotels, apartment hotels and other
family dwellings of similar character in which
the existence of or the installation of sink
accommodations, or cooking or refrigeration
facilities within a room or suite of rooms shall
be deemed sufficient to constitute such room or
suite of rooms an apartment. "
or be amended by adopting such other definition thereof as
the City Council shall deem necessary or appropriate, and
WHEREAS the said City Council is further considering
amending those portions of Section 15, Paragraph 7, Sub-
Paragraph c; Section 15, Paragraph 7B, Sub-Paragraph c;
and Section 15, Paragraph 8, Sub-Paragraph c, reading as
follows:
"Multiple family dwellings shall provide a
minimum of not less than four hundred (400)
sq. ft . within the limiting walls of any
family unit. "
be amended to read as follows:
"Multiple-family dwellings shall provide and
maintain a minimum of not less than 400 square
feet within the limiting walls of any family
unit. "
or by such other amendment of said Sub-Paragraphs as said
City Council shall deem necessary or appropriate.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that a public hearing be and the
same is hereby called to be held on the 5th day of December,
1962, at 2:00 o 'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers, City Hall,
Miami Beach, Florida, for the consideration of said amendment.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and he is
hereby directed to give fifteen (15) days ' notice of the time,
place and object of said hearing by public notice thereof,
published in the Miami Beach Daily Sun, a newspaper of general
circulation in said City .
