Resolution 10886 RESOLUTION NO. 10886
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, that the matters and things set forth by
this City Council by its Resolution No. 10852 adopted on
the 7th day of November, 1962, opposing the construction
of the so-called Mid Bay Causeway, and hereinafter set forth
in full, be and the same is hereby reiterated and affirmed:
"BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that, following
due and deliberate consideration of the project
commonly known as the "Mid-Bay Causeway" it is
the consensus of the Council of the City of
Miami Beach that the beauty of Biscayne Bay is
a priceless heritage to be preserved for the
people of the City of Miami Beach and all of
Dade County and their posterity; and that the
transformation of Biscayne Bay into a monstrous
maze of concrete and asphalt euphemistically
termed an "Expressway" would constitute a need-
less and wanton destruction of property values
not only in the City of Miami Beach, but also
in Dade County, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH that this Resolution
be transmitted to the Metropolitan Dade County
Commission as being an expression of the delib-
erate and considered judgment of the duly author-
ized representatives of the citizens of Miami
Beach, Florida in opposition to the attempted
resuscitation of said ill-favored project denom-
inated "Mid-Bay Causeway" . "
PASSED and ADOPTED this 19th day of December, 1962.
