A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCILMEN OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH ACTING IN BEHALF OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH IN REGARD TO SENATE BILL 809 AND HOUSE
BILL 1611, PRESENTLY INTRODUCED IN THE FLORIDA
LEGISLATURE, BOTH BILLS RESPECTIVELY CALLING FOR
THE AMENDMENT OF SECTION 331.15 (2) , FLORIDA STATUTES.
The following Resolution was offered by City Councilman
Melvin J. Richard, seconded by City Councilman Malvin Englander,
and upon being put to a vote, the vote was as follows :

The Mayor thereupon declared the Resolution duly adopted.
WHEREAS, Senate Bill 809 and House Bill 1611 have been
introduced by Senator George Hollahan and Representative Cary
Matthews respectively; and
WHEREAS, the aforesaid Bills call for the amendment of Florida
Statute 331.15 (2) ; and
WHEREAS, both bills would in effect amend the aforesaid statute
so as to allow limousine transportation between Miami International
Airport and all points and places in Dade County, instead of designated
points as is presently contained in Florida Statute 331.15 (2) ; and
WHEREAS, the City Councilmen of the City of Miami Beach believe
it to be in the best interest of the City of Miami Beach that airport
limousines do not operate like taxicabs from Miami International
Airport to the City of Miami Beach and from the City of Miami Beach
to Miami International Airport; and
WHEREAS, the City Councilmen of the City of Miami Beach desire
that airport limousines operate to designated points as is clearly
indicated in the present statute.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the proposed amendment to Section
331.15 (2) ,Florida Statutes, as contained in Senate Bill 809 and
House Bill 1611, be and the same is hereby disapproved and that
Section 331.15 (2) remain as is.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 15th day of May, 1963.
