RESOLUTION NO. 11242
WHEREAS, on the 18th day of September, 1963, the CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH did enter into an Agreement with CHRIS DUNDEE as
"Promoter" , whereby the said "Promoter" was granted the exclusive
right to present boxing and wrestling exhibitions, shows and con-
tests in the Miami Beach Auditorium and Convention Hall, and
WHEREAS, the said Agreement contained, among other things,
the following provision:
"34. The 'Promoter' shall hold a minimum
of twenty-five (25) boxing and twelve (12)
wrestling shows each year. "
and
WHEREAS, on many occasions the said "Promoter" has been
unable to obtain a satisfactory boxing show of the highest possi-
ble caliber, and
WHEREAS, the "City" and the said CHRIS DUNDEE are mutually
desirous of providing the maximum number of boxing shows and
wrestling shows of the highest quality for the benefit of the
public, and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney has prepared an amendment to the
said Agreement to provide for a combined total of thirty-seven
(37) events per year, with a minimum of not less than twelve (12)
boxing shows, and with a minimum of not less than twelve (12)
wrestling shows, with the terms of which Agreement the City
Council is familiar;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and the City Clerk
be and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute the
said amendment to the said Agreement in the name of and on behalf
of said City.
