A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ADOPTING A BUDGET
FOR THE SAID CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING
SEPTEMBER 30, 1965 .
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, that:
WHEREAS, the City Tax Assessor of said City has notified this
body that the amount of the sum total of taxable property in
said City of Miami Beach, Dade County, Florida, for the tax year
of 1964 is Five Hundred Eighty-Four Million, One Thousand, Seven
Hundred Fifty and 00/100 Dollars ($584, 001, 750.00) which, however,
includes Three Hundred Seventy Two Thousand, Three Hundred and
00/100 Dollars, ($372 , 300.00) in Widows ', Veterans ' and Disability
Exemptions, leaving a working gross assessed valuation of Five
Hundred Eighty-Three Million, Six Hundred Twenty-Nine Thousand,
Four Hundred Fifty and 00/100 Dollars, ($583, 629, 450.00) which
total is subject to an allowance of Twenty-Eight Million, Two
Hundred Eleven Thousand, Seven Hundred Twenty-Five and 00/100
Dollars, ($28, 211, 725 .00) for Homestead Exemptions, pursuant to
the provisions of an Act known as "Senate Bill No. 123" , adopted
by the State Legislature in 1935 and as amended, leaving a net
assessed valuation of Five Hundred Fifty-Five Million, Four
Hundred Seventeen Thousand, Seven Hundred Twenty-Five and 00/100
Dollars, ($555, 417, 725 .00) .
THEREFORE, in conformity with Section 43 of the City Charter of
said City, the City Council has ascertained the amount of the
money needed for each department, and makes the estimate to be
raised by taxes on all of the taxable property in the said City
for the year R.D. 1964, as the same is set forth in the "Proposed
Budget for Fiscal Year 1964-1965, for the City of Miami Beach,
Florida", a true and correct copy of which is attached hereto, and
incorporated herein by reference.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 2nd day of September, A.D. 1964.
