Resolution 11507 RESOLUTION NO. 11507
WHEREAS, Senate Bill 571 has been introduced by Senator
George Hollahan in the Senate of the Florida Legislature, and
WHEREAS, the aforesaid bill calls for airport limousine
service to be allowed to transport people and baggage to all
points and places in traveling to and from Miami International
Airport, and
WHEREAS, said Senate Bill 571 would in effect obliterate
Florida Statute 331.15 (2) which allows limousine transportation
between Miami International Airport and designated points, and
WHEREAS, the City Councilmen of the City of Miami Beach
believe it to be in the best interests of the City of Miami
Beach that airport limousines do not operate like taxicabs
from Miami International Airport to the City of Miami Beach
and from the City of Miami Beach to Miami International Airport,
and
WHEREAS, the City Councilmen of the City of Miami Beach
desire that airport limousines operate to designated points as
is clearly indicated in the present statutes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the proposed Senate
Bill No. 571 or any similar general bill or local bill that
would allow limousines to operate to all points and places be
disapproved by the Dade Delegation in the Florida Legislature.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 5th day of May, 1965 .
