SUBJECT: UPDATE ON REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) NO. 2019-021-ND
AUTOMATED METER READING/ADVANCED METERING INFRASTRUCTURE
(AMR/AMI) SYSTEM
The purpose of this LTC is to update the Mayor and City Commission on RFP 2019-021-ND, for
the implementation of an Automated Meter Reading/Advanced Metering Infrastructure
(AMR/AMI) System. The RFP was issued on October 18, 2018 following approval by the City
Commission.
-
The Administration has received interest in the RFP from a significant number of firms. Due to
the complexity of this project, the amount of questions and requests for information received in
reference to the existing water metering system and the City's standard details for the
installations of water meters is substantial. Additionally, given project complexities, several
proposers have requested the City consider an extension to the deadline for bid submittal,
originally scheduled for November 19, 2018.
Therefore, the Administration finds it to be in the best interest of the City to provide bidders with
as much information as possible, including field verifications of the existing infrastructure,
complete revisions to the City's water meter standard details and extend the allotted time for
preparation of responses to the RFP from November 19, 2018 to January 7, 2019. The extension
will allow the Administration to complete these tasks and provide the proposers with the most
accurate and detailed information in an effort to attract the best responses possible.
While the Cone of Silence prohibits discussion of particular proposals, please do not hesitate to
contact Roy Coley, Public Works Director or Alex Denis, Procurement Director, should you have
any procedural questions at (305)673-7380.
