Resolution 11518 RESOLUTION NO. 11518
WHEREAS , Kenneth Oka has for 20 years served the City of
Miami Beach with honor and distinction. . .as Justice of the Peace,
City Councilman and Mayor; and
WHEREAS, his career as a city official has been characterized
by a dedication to the precepts of good government, an active role
in the cultural life of the community and a cosmopolitan approach
to his official duties; and
WHEREAS , in the course of his extensive travels he has
distinguished himself as a foremost good will ambassador. . . spreading
the fame of Miami Beach throughout the world; and
WHEREAS , his great intellect, charm and wit have won for him
and for his beloved city the friendship and respect of thousands of
people at home and abroad; and
WHEREAS , he is embarking on a challenging new assignment, to
which he brings the skill and integrity he has displayed throughout
his long and fruitful career;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the members of the Miami
Beach City Council pay fitting tribute to their friend and colleague,
Kenneth Oka, for his outstanding contributions to this community
and its citizens; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution become a part of
the permanent records of the City of Miami Beach and that a
suitably engrossed copy be presented to Kenneth Oka as a tangible
token of our esteem, affection and deep appreciation.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 19th day of May, 1965.
