R ESOL UT I ON NO. 11601
WHEREAS, CAROL LYNN BLUM HAS, BY HER CHARM, TALENT AND BEAUTY, EARNED FAME
AND HONOR FOR HERSELF AND HER HOME CITY, MIAMI BEACH; AND,
WHEREAS, DURING HER MANY TRAVELS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY AS "FLORIDA'S
JUNIOR MISS," "AZALEA QUEEN," AND "MISS DIXIE," SHE ALWAYS HAS COOPERATED ENTHUSIASTICALLY
IN PROMOTING AND PUBLICIZING OUR CITY; AND,
WHEREAS, SHE HAS SERVED AS MIAMI BEACH'S GOOD WILL AMBASSADOR ON SO MANY
OCCASIONS, AND RECENTLY HAS BROUGHT ADDITIONAL HONOR AND DISTINCTION TO HER COMMUNITY
BY BEING CHOSEN TO REPRESENT FLORIDA IN THE MISS AMERICA PAGEANT; AND,
WHEREAS, HER FELLOW CITIZENS ARE JUSTIFIABLY PROUD OF THIS ACCOMPLISHED YOUNG
LADY . . . AND WISH HER SUCCESS IN THE MISS AMERICA PAGEANT AND ALL FUTURE ENDEAVORS;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF MIAMI BEACH PAY FITTING
TRIBUTE TO CAROL LYNN BLUM FOR HER MANY OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS, WHICH HAVE REFLECTED
MUCH FAVORABLE ATTENTION ON OUR CITY, AND TO DEMONSTRATE THE PRIDE AND ESTEEM IN WHICH
SHE IS HELD BY OUR PEOPLE.
AND, FURTHER, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THIS RESOLUTION BECOME PART OF THE PERMANENT
RECORDS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AND A COPY PRESENTED TO CAROL LYNN BLUM AS A
TANGIBLE TOKEN OF OUR VERY WARM AND SINCERE APPRECIATION.
