Resolution 11602 RESOLUTION NO. 11602 WHEREAS the United States Government, by and through its duly authorized agency The National Park Service, is consider- ing the acquisition of that certain land area in Biscayne Bay known as Islandia for recreational purposes, and WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Miami Beach deems that such action by National Park Service would be of incalcu- lable benefit to the citizens not only of the City of Miami Beach, but indeed of the entire State of Florida. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the Honorable Stewart L. Udall, Secretary of the Interior, and the said National Park Service be and they are hereby respectfully urged to take all necessary measures to consummate such acquisition for said purpose with all possible dispatch, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that certified copies of this Resolution be transmitted to the Honorable Stewart L. Udall, Secretary of the Interior, Senator Spessard Holland, Senator George Smathers, Congressman Dante Fascell and Congressman Claude Pepper. PASSED and ADOPTED this 1st day of September, 1965.
