Resolution 11723 RESOLUTION NO. 11723
WHEREAS it has come to the attention of the City Council
of the City of Miami Beach, Florida that the Dade County Board
of Public Instruction is contemplating the abandonment and the
discontinuance of South Beach Elementary School, and
WHEREAS the best interests not only of the school children
in the area but of the entire community manifestly demand and
require the continued operation and maintenance of said school,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that it is unanimously and
vigorously opposed to such proposed abandonment of said school
and strongly urges that said School Board forthwith publicly
announce its disclaimer of any intention to discontinue or
abandon said school, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this reso-
lution be delivered eo instanti to each member of the Dade
County Board of Public Instruction as evidence of the degree of
urgency with which this City Council views the situation.
