A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF
THE NEIGHBORHOOD/COMMUNITY AFFAIRS COMMITTEE AND
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY ADMINISTRATION TO EXPAND
PARKING OPPORTUNITIES FOR MUNICIPAL PARKING PERMITHOLDERS
IN THE COLLINS PARK NEIGHBORHOOD UNTIL THE CITY'S COLLINS
PARK GARAGE FACILITY IS OPERATIONAL.
WHEREAS, On October 17, 2018, the City Commission approved a referral to the
Neighborhood/Community Affairs Committee (NCAC) to discuss potential parking solutions for
the Collins Park neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, there has been a temporary reduction in parking inventory in the Collins
Park neighborhood as a result of the City's Collins Park Garage construction project taking
place at the site of the two former municipal parking lots, including related curbside parking
along the perimeter of the construction site; and
WHEREAS, the NCAC discussed the item and the Administration recommended the
following temporary initiatives to enhance parking opportunities in the Collins Park
neighborhood until such time that the City's Collins Park Garage facility is operational:
• Further expand parking areas where facility-specific, monthly municipal parking permits
are honored to include the metered parking spaces on the west side of Pine Tree Drive
between Dade Boulevard and 28th Street.
• Honor same facility-specific, monthly municipal parking permits at Municipal Parking
Garage No. 9/Pennsylvania Avenue Garage (for those who wish to utilize the garage
option).
• Expedite the reconfiguration of Municipal Parking Lot No. P48, located adjacent to the
Bass Museum, which would potentially yield a 50% increase in parking inventory.
However, this initiative may only proceed if the construction phasing allows for the
parking lot [P48] to remain operational during construction; and
WHEREAS, the NCAC passed a motion recommending the above-stated proposed
temporary parking enhancements and the City Commission accepts such recommendations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby accept the recommendations of the Neighborhood/Community Affairs
Committee at its October 31, 2018 meeting, and hereby authorize and direct the City
Administration to expand parking opportunities in the Collins Park neighborhood, as set forth
herein, until the City's Collins Park Garage facility is operational. //,,rr //

SUBJECT:A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE
NEIGHBORHOOD/COMMUNITY AFFAIRS COMMITTEE TO EXPAND PARKING
OPPORTUNITIES FOR MUNICIPAL PARKING PERMIT HOLDERS IN THE
COLLINS PARK NEIGHBORHOOD; SAID ENHANCEMENTS SHALL SUNSET
UPON COMPLETION OF THE COLLINS PARK GARAGE (CITY PROJECT).

The NCAC endorsed the aforementioned temporary parking enhancements for the Collins Park neighborhood until
such time that the Collins Park Garage (City Project)is operational.The Administration recommends that the Mayor
