Resolution 12360 RESOLUTION NO. 12360
WHEREAS, the matter of appropriate landscaping and
beautification of the Julia Tuttle Causeway has been and is
a matter of great interest to the City Council of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach
has and does deem the expense of such landscaping and beautifi-
cation to be a proper obligation of the State and County; and
WHEREAS, the County of Dade has submitted a proposal
to the City Council of the City of Miami Beach that said County
will expend the sum of approximately $69, 000.00 for the purpose
of installing sprinklers and an appropriate irrigation system
for the said project, and the State of Florida will commit and
obligate itself to expend the sum of approximately $210, 000.00
for installation of appropriate landscaping, inclusive of trees,
shrubbery and other appropriate plantings; and thereafter to
maintain said landscaping and irrigation system; and
WHEREAS, the County of Dade has requested the concur-
rence of the City of Miami Beach in the foregoing proposal;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that it favors and is in
accord with the foregoing proposal and requests the Metropoli-
tan Dade County Commission to adopt said proposal and to submit
the same as a formal offer to the City Council of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, for its formal acceptance thereof.
