A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACTING CITY MANAGER
TO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING
AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT
FOR AN OPEN SPACE LAND GRANT TO HELP IN THE AC-
QUISITION AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE FOLLOWING PRO-
PERTY TO BE USED FOR BATHING BEACH AND PARK PUR-
POSES : NORTH SHORE OCEAN FRONT PARK, PHASE I
(81ST STREET TO 87TH STREET)
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach is desirous of obtaining
additional open spaces to be used for bathing beach, park
and related recreational purposes; and
WHEREAS, available vacant land or land occupied by compara-
tively obsolete structures in the City of Miami Beach is
rapidly being consumed for private construction;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida, that the Acting City Manager
is hereby authorized to make application to the Department
of Housing and Urban Development of the Federal Government
for an Open-Space Land Grant to help in the acquisition and
development of the following property to be used for bathing
beach, park and related recreational use: North Shore Ocean
Front Park, Phase I, all of Blocks 1, 2, 15 and 16 and Airoso
(Atlantic) Way., Corrected Plat of Altos del Mar No. 1, ac-
cording to the Plat thereof recorded in Plat Book 31, at
Page 40 of the Public Records of Dade County, Florida.
All of Blocks 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 Altos del Mar No. 2
and Airoso (Atlantic) Way according to the Plat thereof recorded
in Plat Book 4, at Page 162, of the Public Records of Dade County,
Florida) .
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 2nd DAY OF March, A.D.1966.
