A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, CALLING
AN ELECTION AT WHICH THERE SHALL BE
SUBMITTED TO A VOTE THE MATTER OF ISSUANCE
OF BONDS OF SAID CITY IN THE SUM OF
$9, 745,000.00 FOR THE PURPOSES IN THIS
RESOLUTION STATED.
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, deems it advisable to issue bonds of said City in amounts
and for the municipal purposes set forth in the election notice
provided for in Section 6 of the following resolution,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That, subject to the authorization of the duly registered
and qualified voters of said City, who are freeholders
therein, participating in the election according to law, which is
hereinafter called, negotiable coupon bonds of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, shall be issued in the sums and for the purposes stated in
the Notice of Election provided in Section 6 of this resolution.
SECTION 2. That a special election is hereby called and directed
to be held in fhe City of Miami Beach, Florida, from
7:00 o'clock A.M. until 7 :00 o'clock P.M. on the 28th day of May,
1968, for the purpose of submitting to a vote of the duly registered
and qualified voters of said City who are freeholders therein the
questions whether bonds of said City shall be issued in the sums
and for the purposes stated in the Notice of Election provided for
in Section 6 of this resolution.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk, who is also the Supervisor of
Registration, open the books of said City from 9:00
o'clock A.M. until 5:00 o'clock P.M. each day, Sundays and Holidays
excepted, from April 17, 1968 to April 28, 1968, both inclusive,
for the purpose of registering those electors who are qualified to
register for this election, and after said April 28, 1968, no
elector shall be registered for said election.
SECTION 4. For the purpose of holding and conducting said election,
the City of Miami Beach has been divided into voting
precincts or election districts with polling places therein, as
follow :

PRECINCT NO. 58: That part of the City of Miami Beach bounded on the North and
West by the limits of the City of Miami Beach; bounded on the
South by the center line of Indian Creek; bounded on the East by a line described
as follows: beginning at the intersection of the center line of Indian Creek and
the center line of Tatum waterway run Northerly along Tatum Waterway to the Southerly
extension of the center line of Hawthorne Ave. , thence run Northerly along the
center line of Hawthorne Ave. to the center line of 31 Street , Miami Beach; thence
run Easterly along the center line of 81 Street to the center line of Tatum Waterway;
thence run Northerly to the boundary of the City of Miami Beach; the Polling Place
of which shall be at the Biscayne Elementary School , situated at 800 - 77th Street.
PRECINCT NO. 59: Bounded on the North by the center line of 77th Street ; bounded
on the South by the center line of 71st Street; bounded on the
East by the Easterly boundary of the State of Florida; bounded on the !Jest by the
center line of Indian Creek and the center line of Tatum ,iaterway; the Polling
Place of which shall be at the North Shore Park Teen Center, situated at the corner
of Byron Avenue and 72nd Street .
PRECINCT NO. 60: All that part of Miami Beach known as Normandy Isle and its
surrounding waters which lie Southerly of the line described as
follows: beginning at the East end of the 79th Street Causeway bridge run Easterly
along the center line of Normandy Drive to the center line of Verdun; thence run
Northwesterly along Verdun to the center line of Marseille Drive; thence run
Easterly along Marseille Drive to the center line of Rue Notre Dame; thence run
Southeasterly to the center line of Normandy Drive; thence run Easterly to Indian
Creek; the Polling Place of which shall be at the Normandy Isle Municipal Pool ,
situated at 7030 Trouville Esplanade.
PRECINCT NO. 80: Bounded on the North by the center line of LaGorce Canal from
Biscayne Bay to the West line of Indian Creek and the center line
of 63rd Street from the East Shore of Allison Island to the Atlantic Ocean; bounded
on the South by the center line of 51st Street and its Westerly and Easterly exten-
sions; bounded on the East by the East boundary of the State of Florida; bounded on
the :!est by the City Limits of Miami ; the Polling Place of which shall be at the
69th Street Fire Station, situated at 6860 Indian Creek Drive.
PRECINCT NO. 81 : Bounded on the North by the center line of 44th Street and its
Easterly and Westerly extensions; bounded on the South by the
center line of 34th Street and its Easterly and westerly extensions ; bounded on the
East by the East boundary of the State of Florida; bounded on the West by the center
line of Biscayne Waterway; the Polling Place of which shall be at the North Beach

point on the Western boundary of the City of Miami Beach which is 1500.00 feet
Southerly from its intersection with the center line of Venetian Causeway to the
point of intersection with the Eastern shore line of Biscayne Bay and the center line
of 14th Street (Miami Beach) ; bounded on the East by the Eastern shore line of

PRECINCT NO. 115: Bounded on the North by the center line of 11th Street; bounded
on the South by the center line of 6th Street and its Westerly
extension from Biscayne Bay to Alton Road and the center line of 7th Street from

Polling Place of which shall be at the Ida M. Fisher Jr. High School Gymnasium,
corner of 14th Place and Pennsylvania Avenue.
PRECINCT NO. 273: All that part of Miami Beach known as Normandy Isle and its
surrounding waters which lie Northerly of the line described
as follows : beginning at the East end of the 79th Street Causeway bridge run

South by the center line of 77th Street; bounded on the East by the East boundary
of the State of Florida; bounded on the West by the center line of Tatum Waterway;
together with that part described as follows : beginning at the intersection of the
center line of Tatum Waterway and the Southerly extension of the center line of
Hawthorne Avenue run Northerly along the center line of Hawthorne Avenue to the

PRECINCT NO. 288: Bounded on the North by the center line of Dade Boulevard;
bounded on the South by the center line of 15th Street;
bounded on the East by the center line of Meridian Avenue; bounded on the West
by the center line of Lenox Avenue; the Polling Place of which shall be at the
Miami Beach Auditorium, situated at 1700 Washington Avenue.
PRECINCT NO. 289: Bounded on the North by the center line of 15th Street and its
Easterly extension; bounded on the South by the center line of
13th Street; bounded on the East by the East boundary of the State of Florida;
bounded on the West by the center line of Meridian Avenue; the Polling Place of
which shall be at the Ida M. Fisher Junior High School Gymnasium, Corner of 14th
Place and Pennsylvania Avenue.
PRECINCT NO. 290: Bounded on the North by the center line of 11th Street; bounded
on the South by the center line of 7th Street ; bounded on the
East by the center line of Euclid Avenue; bounded on the West by the center line
of Michigan Avenue; the Polling Place of which shall be at the new Fire Station ,
situated at 1051 Jefferson Avenue.
PRECINCT NO. 291 Bounded on the North by the center line of 7th Street; bounded
on the South by the center line of 3rd Street; bounded on the
East by the East boundary of the State of Florida; bounded on the West by the
center line of Meridian Avenue; the Polling Place of which shall be at the Ocean

All being places where elections are usually held in said municipality.
All electors shall vote at the Polling Places in the voting precincts
in which the City Registration Books show that said electors reside.
SECTION 5. That thirty days' notice of said election shall be
given by publication in the Miami Beach Sun, a newspaper
published in the City of Miami Beach, Florida. Such publication
shall be made at least once each week for four consecutive weeks
during said period of thirty days.
_SECTION 6_ That the Notice of Election shall be substantially
in the following form:

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an election has been called by
the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, and
will be held in said City from 7:00 o' clock A.M. until
7:00 o' clock P.M. on the 28th day of May, 1968, at which
there shall be submitted to the duly registered and
qualified voters of said City Who are freeholders therein
the following questions
1, Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable
coupon bonds in the amount of $1,000,000.00 with interest
at a rate to be hereafter determined, not exceeding 6%
per annum for the purpose of EXTENDING EXISTING SANITARY
SEWER OUTFALL EASTWARD IN 7iT.L•AETIOCEAN?
2. Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable
coupon bonds in the amount of $705, 000.00 with interest at
a. rate to be hereafter determined, not exceeding 6% per annum,
for the purpose of MAKING IMPROVEMENTS TO THE WATER SUPPLY
SYSTEM?
The improvements contemplated are:
P. 36" supply line replacement for the North Day Causeway Bridges;
Replace 5200 feet of existing water mains in West Avenue between
5th Street and 15th Street;
Replace 3300 feet of 20" diameter pipe from 5th Street and West
Avenue east to Ocean Drive;
Miscellaneous mains in conjunction with street improvements.
3. Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable
coupon bonds in the amount of $4, 700,000.00 with interest
at a rate to be hereafter determined, not exceeding 6% per
annum, for the purpose of ACQUIRING FROM THE DADE COUNTY
BOARD OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED SCHOOL
PROPERTIES?
South Beach Elementary; Feinberg Elementary;
Ida M. Fisher Junior High; Nautilus Junior High;
North Beach Elementary Teacherage; Biscayne Elementary.

4. Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon
bonds in the amount of $1 , 140,000.00 with interest at a rate to
be hereafter determined, not exceeding 6% per annum, for the purpose
of MAKING ASSESSABLE STREET LIGHT IMPROVEMENTS, for the payment of
all or part of which a special annual tax will be levied, the amount
of which levy will be reduced by collections from special improvement
assessments made against abutting property, as authorized by law,

SECTION 8,. That there shall be apportioned and levied as special
improvement assessments made against the abutting
property on a front foot basis such portion of the cost of the
construction of street light improvements referred to in Question "4"
hereinabove set forth as is by law authorized to be apportioned and
levied.

SECTIQN 11. That a special annual tax upon all taxable property
within the City of Miami Beach, over and above all
other taxes authorized or limited by law, or by the Charter of
the City, sufficient to pay the interest and the principal of
the bonds hereby authorized, at their several dates of maturity,
shall be and .'_s hereby levied, provided that the amount of such
special annual tax levy shall be reduced by the amount then
contained in the local improvement bond fund, and by the amount
of any other funds applicable to said bonds,.

SECTION 12. That the special improvement assessments against
abutting property herein provided for, for highway
and sidewalk improvements and street lighting, are hereby pledged
for the payment of principal and interest of the bonds hereby
authorized for the purpose of such highway and sidewalk improvements
and the proceeds of the special annual tax hereby provided for
shall be used for no other purpose than the payment of principal
and interest of the bonds hereby authorized, at their several dates
of maturity, and any balance collected at any time from such
special annual tax after the payment of principal and interest
upon the bonds hereby authorized shall be deposited in the local
improvement bond fund.
SECTION 13. That this resolution shall be effective immediately
upon its passage and adoption as required by law.
