Resolution 12427 RESOLUTION NO. 12427
WHEREAS , in response to the need of appropriate
medical aid for citizens of Miami Beach, Florida, Metropolitan
Dade County established a health clinic at 615 Collins Avenue
in said city, and
WHEREAS said health clinic has rendered services in a
manner worthy of public commendation, but
WHEREAS the demands upon the services proffered in
said clinic have increased to a degree where persons applying
for medical aid are not receiving the same with the degree of
immediacy required, because of insufficient trained personnel
assigned to duty at said health clinic, and
WHEREAS the existent understaffing of personnel trained
in the medical arts constitutes a stultification of the
beneficent purposes and objectives contemplated to be rendered
by the said health clinic, all to the manifest detriment of the
citizens and residents of Miami Beach, Florida, in need of the
services therein rendered,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that Metropolitan
Dade County be and it is earnestly and courteously urged to
assign, with the highest degree of urgency, a medical doctor
and a trained nurse for permanent full-time duty, at the said
health clinic.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a duly certified copy of
this Resolution be submitted to each member of the Dade County
Commission, and to the County Manager.
