The committee is vested with the power and authority to make recommendations to the city commission and to investigate, develop, and carry out plans to promote and ensure the provision of quality education in Miami Beach public schools. City Run School Bus within 2 miles of MDCPS - updated provided that CMB would fund pilot program at North Beach Elementary and Biscayne Elementary for one semester beginning in August 2017 Feeder Pattern Questions – deferred to next meeting  Geo Bond Update-By School- Next Step-MDCPS to bring handout re status II. Communication Ethics Training-March 21 – reminded all members to attend if available III. Health and Well-Being Nurse Enhancement Initiative-Behavioral Mental Health Initiative update provided with request to sustain going to commission in April and budget meetings IV. Student Achievement Dual Enrollment – Update provide that MDC courses have begun at both MBSH and Nautilus Middle School EFL (Extended Foreign Language) – no update provided V. Teacher Recruitment / Retention – item deferred to next meeting  Guidance Counselors-Actual Responsibility v. Job Description  Trust Counselors-Job Description/Beach High loss of Trust Counselor  Legislative Platform Update-Aligning Platforms for Advocacy New Business  MBSH Athletic Fees to use CMB Parks-Beach Field – PPT presentation provided by MBSH coach Aaron Harris and Edgar Botto. Al Palacio from MDCPS facilities stated MDCPS will look at MBSH field and report back at next QEC meeting. Second request made to MDCPS staff for line item detail on all high school field maintenance by school for this year and past years.
