Miami Beach High School field – discussed and going to invite Parks to next meeting. Email turf plan to members 2. Tom Mooney From Planning Deferred until January a. Marijuana dispensary locations specifically the JCC 3. Dr. Karp spoke on DACA 4. Fence around Nautilus was discussed. Last meeting MDCPS was going to schedule a meeting with Homeowners Association 5. Traffic and Safety Issues a. Miami Beach High Drop off lane deferred to January meeting b. Bayshore Traffic Study Josiel Ferrer to present in January c. -23rd and Prairie - Commissioner Aleman request Josiel Ferrer to email her regarding this issue d. - Dickens at Biscayne turning signal – Per Ferrer the County found funding for 2017. Josiel to email Commissioner Aleman info on this issue, as she will reach out to the County directly. e. - FF drop off lane – Sally Alayon to provide information at next meeting 6. Enhancements a. Survey LTC – Motion made to support Motion made by Dr. Judi Berson-Levinson Motion seconded by Beverly Heller The Committee for Quality Education requests the Miami Beach Mayor and Commission obtain cost estimates for all the items mentioned in the Education Enhancement Survey that are not currently underway for consideration in the 2019 city budget. The Committee for Quality Education urges the Mayor and Commission to support the above request. Update on Legislation provided and motion made, and MB priorities sent to members. Motion made by Beverly Heller Motion seconded by Dr. Judi Berson-Levinson The Committee for Quality Education urges the Miami Beach Mayor and Commission to support the Miami-Dade County Public Schools 2018 State Legislative priority positions under the headings of funding, governance, capital funding, and hurricane preparedness/recovery. The Committee for Quality Education urges the Mayor and Commission to support the above request. Motion Passage: Votes 11-0 8. Transfer Education Director of the Miami Theater Presentation provided and information distributed. 9. Data on canine searches was not provided from Lt. Valcourt (MDCPS), as no there has been no data driven canine trigger for searches at Beach schools. 10. School Board update provided 11.
