Miami Beach Police to Host Annual Toy Drive
— Saturday, December 16 at 9 a.m. —
WHO/WHAT: Santa Claus is set to arrive early this year in Miami Beach. On Saturday,
December 16 at 9 a.m., the Miami Beach Police Department will be
providing gifts to over 450 community children.
Since 1982, through the generosity of the Miami Beach community —
including private citizens, local businesses and civic organizations —
funds are donated to the Miami Beach Police Relief Fund, which enable
MBPD to purchase and provide toys to the children of Miami Beach. For
many, this may be the only toy they receive this season.
This year, MBPD received a $10,000 grant under Target’s “Heroes and
Helpers” program to use towards their toy shopping
In addition to distributing toys, children will be entertained with face
painting, popcorn, music from a DJ, and a special performance by In
Blue, an all police member band.
This annual toy drive is a great example of the many ways Miami Beach
continues to be a City of Kindness.
WHEN: Saturday, December 16 at 9 a.m.
WHERE: Miami Beach Police Department
1100 Washington Avenue
