Coast into the Weekend on a Water Taxi
– Ribbon Cutting to Celebrate New Water Taxi Service in Miami Beach –
WHO/WHAT: The City of Miami Beach has teamed up with Water Taxi Miami to
offer another way for residents and visitors to cruise between
Downtown Miami and South Beach. Starting this month, you can
now hop on board at the Purdy Avenue Dock in the Sunset
Harbour neighborhood to enjoy the beautiful views and a stress-
free ride to the mainland.
On Friday, January 13 at 3 p.m., join Miami Beach city officials
and Water Taxi Miami for the ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate
the launch of this pilot program.
Water taxi pick up locations on Miami Beach include the Purdy
Avenue Dock and Miami Beach Marina, and City of Miami stops
are Bayside Marketplace and Sea Isle Marina. Days of operation
from the Purdy Avenue Dock are from Friday to Sunday, using a
38-passenger vessel with the ability to accommodate bicycles.
One way fare prices are as follows: $15 for adults and children
five years of age and older; $7.50 for children one to four years of
age; children under one are free; $10 for military, senior citizens
65 years of age and older, and Miami Beach residents. There is a
monthly pass option for $95 and an annual pass for $295. For
