Miami Beach Police Cracks Down
– On Loud Music & Traffic Violations –
Miami Beach, FL –This weekend, the Miami Beach Police Department will deploy teams of
officers tasked with addressing quality of life issues, including noise, safety and traffic violations.
This includes enforcing loud, amplified music and traffic related infractions associated with the
improper use of electric/motorized vehicles.
“The goal is to increase public safety by continuing to enforce laws,” said Miami Beach Police
Deputy Chief Rick Clements.
MBPD will be enforcing Miami-Dade County Ordinance SEC. 21-28, which cites unreasonably
loud, excessive, unnecessary, or unusual noise. Violation of this ordinance, if not promptly
remedied, may result in an arrest.
“We must protect residential quality of life, while maintaining the unique characteristics of our
vibrant city, added City Manager Jimmy L. Morales. “Excessively loud music and vehicles
operating unlawfully also seriously diminish the visitor experience and must stop.”
MBPD Spokesperson Ernesto Rodriguez will be available for interviews at 10:30 a.m.
today on this matter at Police Headquarters — 1100 Washington Avenue.
