City of Miami Beach Cultural Affairs Launches Capacity Building Workshop
Series
— Focusing on the Business of the Arts —
Miami Beach, FL — The City of Miami Beach Cultural Affairs invites artists, non-profit cultural
organizations, event organizers, local business and all other interested individuals to participate in a free
Capacity Building Workshop series focusing on the business of the arts. Industry experts and panelists from
across the greater Miami area have been assembled to deliver workshops covering a broad range of topics
including: strategic partnerships and relationship building, securing national funding, financial management
and reporting, board development and recruiting, and event planning. Across the series, attendees will be
exposed to new ideas, trends and resources to take back to their organizations.

Miami Beach Cultural Affairs is a Division of the City of Miami Beach’s Department of Tourism, Culture and
Economic Development. The mission of the program is to develop, coordinate, and promote the arts in the
City of Miami Beach community. Since the program’s inception, the City of Miami Beach Mayor and
Commission, with the Cultural Arts Council, have awarded more than $15 million to over 100 not-for-profit
arts groups, supporting thousands of performances, exhibits, and other unique cultural activities in Miami
Beach.
