A RESOLUTION REQUESTING STATE LEGISLATURE TO
FAVORABLY CONSIDER AND ENACT INTO LAW A BILL
PROPOSING AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 163, FLORIDA
STATUTES , PERTAINING TO COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT.
WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of Florida hereto-
fore enacted Chapter 163, Florida Statutes , authorizing the
creation of community redevelopment agencies, and
WHEREAS , the City of Miami Beach has duly created such
an agency, and
WHEREAS , in order to effectuate the laudable and
beneficent objectives and purposes of said legislation to amend
the same so as to extend eligibility for membership on such.
redevelopment agencies to persons having a substantial business
interest within the municipality wherein such redevelopment agency
has been created, and
WHEREAS, proposed legislation amending said Chapter 163
in the above regard, and other sections thereto, which amendments
are equally beneficial, are designed to meet the objectives and
purposes of said Chapter 163; has been filed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Legislature of the
State of Florida be and it is hereby respectfully petitioned to
enact into law said proposed bill, setting forth the desired
changes, to existing Chapter 163, Florida Statutes, pertaining to
community redevelopment agencies, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that copies of this resolution be trans-
mitted to each member of the Dade County Delegation to the State
Legislature, and to the Honorable Dempsey J. Barron, President of
the Senate, and to the Honorable Donald L. Tucker, Speaker of the
House of Representatives. ,
