Resolution 76-15057 RESOLUTION NO. 76-15057 A RESOLUTION REQUIRING AND ORDERING A MANDATORY REDUCTION OF WORKTIME AND CORRESPONDING DIMINUTION OF COMPENSATION. WHEREAS, the operating expenses of the City of Miami Beach for the current fiscal year 1975-1976 are exceeding the amounts appropriated and available therefor, by an amount presently esti- mated to be $675 , 000; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has advised the City Council of the City of Miami Beach that in order to meet said operating expenses as they come due, it is imperative that each City officer, whether elective or appointive, and employee, shall be mandatorily required to take one day off, without pay, during each of the remaining four (4) months of the present fiscal year, and WHEREAS, the City Council has found and determined that an emergency exists directly and substantially affecting the life, health and safety of the citizens and residents of the City of Miami Beach; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that it does hereby accept the above recommendation of the City Manager and he is hereby authorized and directed to take forthwith all necessary action to implement and carry out said recommendation; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that nothing herein contained shall be con- strued so as to adversely affect, reduce or diminish pension rights and benefits or accumulation of sick or annual leave of any person affected hereby. This Resolution shall go into effect immediately upon its . passage. PASSED and ADOPTED this 2nd day of June , 1976 .
