A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF CONTRACTS BY MAYOR AND
CITY CLERK BETWEEN THE SOUTH FLORIDA CETA CONSORTIUM AND THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH FOR THE PERFORMANCE OF CERTAIN PROGRAMS
UNDER THE EMERGENCY JOBS PROGRAM EXTENSION ACT OF 1976.
WHEREAS , the City of Miami Beach, by its Resolution No. 74-14288, as
modified by Resolution No. 75-14666, entered into an Agreement with Metropolitan
Dade County for the entering into of contracts and procurement of grants for un-
employed and underemployed projects pursuant to federal and state legislation
therefor, and
WHEREAS , said Resolutions are in full force and effect, and
WHEREAS , the City of Miami Beach desires to implement and operate certain
work programs calling for an estimated expenditure of Five Hundred Eighty Seven
Thousand Six Hundred Seventy Six Dollars ($587,676.00) to be paid from federal
funds received for that purpose, said programs to continue for estimated periods
of from two months to twelve months, commencing June 19, 1977, and
WHEREAS, Metropolitan Dade County, acting as "The South Florida CETA
Consortium, " has approved and agreed to said program, all as evidenced by written
agreement, the terms and provisions of which are familiar to the City Council , and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be in the best interest of the City
of Miami Beach, its citizens and residents, to enter into said agreements;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and the City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized
and directed to execute and deliver said agreements for and in the name of the
City of Miami Beach.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 3rd day of August, 1977.
