SUBJECT: INCREASE IN HOURS OF SERVICE FOR CAPITAL PROJECTS EXPEDITER
Mr. Joseph Brodes is under contract to the City to provide services
to the City in the capacity of Projects Expediter. Mr. Brodes originally
was employed in the Capital Projects office under the City Manager.
Since reorganization he has been assigned, along with many of the
functions, to the Engineering Division of the Public Utilities Department.
He has been incorporated in the existing staff performing additional
duties as architect for various projects and has been working almost
on a full-time basis. The present contract limitations of an average
of 30 hours a week, not to exceed $16,125.00 as year, was reached on
November 11, 1977.
It is in the City's best interest to have Mr. Brodes continue to work
for the City this calendar year; however, the contract must be modified
to allow for additional services. Funds for this purpose will be provided
from various bond fund, community development and capital improvement
projects.
The Administration recommends that the agreement between Mr. Brodes and
the City of Miami Beach be amended effective November 11, 1977, to allow
up to an average of 40 hours per week and not to exceed $21,500.00 per
year. Funds are available, as indicated, and the contract payments are
prorated to the various projects Mr. Brodes works on during the year.
