SUBJECT: AMENDMENT TO 1977 METERED PARKING SYSTEM BUDGET
With adoption of the City' s 1977-78 operating budget
metered parking enforcement function was transferred from
the regular budget to the Metered Parking 0 & M budget.
Accordingly, that function is no longer included, nor
funded, from general City revenues. This transfer resulted
in increased charges to the Metered Parking System, primarily
for salaries, for October through December, 1977.
In addition, three positions in the Metered Parking operating
budget were funded under the CETA program. That program was
reduced in scope in mid-1977 with the result that supplemental
funding for the three positions was no longer available. Since
the three positions are essential to operation of the Metered
Parking Division, they were transferred to the regularly
funded 0 & M budget.
The total additional amount required to provide for the above
is $59, 596. Funds are available in the Metered Parking System.
Accordingly, it is recommended that Resolution No. 76-15221 be
amended to reflect the necessary adjustment.
