A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE CERTIFICATE OF THE
CANVASSING COMMITTEE AS TO THE RESULTS OF THE
NOVEMBER 6, 1979 GENERAL AND SPECIAL ELECTIONS;
DECLARING RESULTS THEREOF.
WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the City Commission of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida the Certificate of two members of said City Commission
and the City Clerk as the Canvassing Committee of said City Commission as to the
results of the canvass of the returns of the General and Special Elections held
in said City on November 6, 1979, and
WHEREAS, the said Canvassing Committee has duly canvassed said returns and
certified the returns of said Elections;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, that it hereby adopts the said Certificate as to the results of
said Elections and it is hereby ordered that the same Certificate and this
Resolution be recorded in the minutes of this meeting as a permanent record of
the results of said Elections;
AND IT IS FURTHER FOUND, DETERMINED AND RESOLVED that the following
candidates for Mayor and City Commissioner, Groups I, II, III, IV, V, and VI
received the highest number of votes cast, and are hereby declared ELECTED:

City of Miami Beach, Florida, do hereby certify that we have made a canvass of
the returns of the General and Special Elections held in Miami Beach, Florida,
on November 6, 1979, as conducted by the Clerks and Inspectors who were duly
appointed by the Metropolitan Dade County Supervisor. of Elections; and as reflected by
certification received from the Supervisor of Elections of Dade County, Florida;
such canvass having been made solely, exclusively and entirely from such returns
and certification; and DO HEREBY CERTIFY that as a result of said canvass, we
have found and DO HEREBY DECLARE the results of said elections to be as follows:

museum and Garden Center; improvements to the City's Police, Fire
and Sanitation facilities and capital equipment; construction and
improvements to the City's streets and sewers; and improvements
and additions to the City's public beach and park facilities,
be approved for the unexpended proceeds of the City's Waste
Facility Bonds (the unexpended bond proceeds are $2,414,919) ,
Biscayne Bay Public Park Acquisition Bonds (the unexpended bond
proceeds are $384,622) , and 1973 Park and Recreational Land
Bonds (the unexpended bond proceeds are $1,419,996) , and the
purpose for which the City's 1972 Oceanfront Park Bonds (originally
authorized in the amount of $1,500,000.00) are authorized to be
issued be amended to include the additional purpose of acquiring
and improving oceanfront property for park purposes?
