SUBJECT: CITY OF MIAMI BEACH YOUTH J•B FAIR
On Friday, October 5, 2018 the City of Miami Beach hosted the First Annual Youth Job Fair at the
Scott Rakow Youth Center(2700 Sheridan Avenue). Over 25 students from Miami Beach Senior
High School and the Hebrew Academy participated in speaking to local businesses interested in
recruiting high school age youth for potential future employment.
This event began as a request by the City's Youth Commission. In a joint effort between Parks
and Recreation, Tourism, Culture and Economic Development and the department of
Organizational Development and Performance Initiatives, the City was able to secure several
local businesses to set up booths with their recruitment information. High school students spoke
to business owners, managers and other staff to gain valuable knowledge on the hiring process
for future opportunities.
The City of Miami Beach is pleased to announce the success of the event and is planning to host
an additional Youth Job Fair in 2019.
Should you have additional questions, please contact Cindy Casanova at(305) 673-7730.
