Meeting was called to order at 4:06pm.

Ms. Navarette motioned to reverse
Mr. Kohli’s April absence as the
meeting ended early. Ms. Bakkum
seconded. Motion accepted through
acclimation.
Pursuant to Section 2-22 (11) of the City Code, “Attendance shall be recorded
when an individual arrives within 30 minutes of the scheduled meeting time and
remains for at least 70 percent of the meeting.” A Committee does not have
jurisdiction to “remove” a member’s absence.” Based on the facts you
provided, the member should be listed as absent.

The minutes were approved by acclimation.
The Chair discussed the changes to the alcohol sales time in the MXE district.

1.The Chair encouraged members to meet a homeless person and understand their situation so that the Committee can
debrief and share experiences at meetings to better prepare them to advise Commission.
2.The Chair suggested having a guest speaker at meetings and encouraged suggestions from the membership.
3.The Chair advised she has been speaking to the Hotel Association regarding the no panhandling signage.
4.The Chair asked Police to notify the church when a homeless person dies. The Police expressed concerns.
5.The Ms. Labuzetta made a motion that the homeless office be relocated for health concerns of staff (as a result of
mold) and be able to properly serve the community by ensuring that it be open during business hours of 7:30am –
3:30pm. Motion seconded by Mr. Kohli. Motion approved by acclimation.
6. The Chair complained that she has received several complaints from the homeless regarding Outreach Services. She
made a motion to have the Mayor and Commission to direct the Outreach Office to treat clients better. No second was
provided. The motion failed.
Amended motion made at July 26, 2017 meeting that amends Ms. Labuzetta’s
motion: :..and to add additional, adequate staffing.”

Road.
