RESOLUTION NO. 80-16303
A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 78-15642,
(Creating Hurricane Defense, Committee)INCREASING MEMBERS
APPOINTED BY MAYOR FROM FIVE TO EIGHT; DELETING
REQUIREMENT FOR MIAMI BEACH RESIDENCY AS QUALIFICATION
FOR MEMBERSHIP
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA;
That Paragraph One of Resolution No. 78-15642, now reading as follows:
"BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that
there is hereby established and created a Hurricane Defense Committee of the City
of Miami Beach, Florida, to consist of and to comprise the following persons:
the City Manager or his duly authorized representative; the Chief of the Police
Department; the Chief of the Fire Department; and a representative of the City
Attorney's office, each of whom shall be deemed ex officio members thereof;
and five citizens of the City of Miami Beach to be named and designated by the
Mayor and who shall be skilled and knowledgeable in matters pertaining to hurricane
disaster, preparation and relief. Said citizen members shall serve at the will of
the Mayor, shall receive no compensation for their services, but shall be reim-
bursed for their lawful expenses incurred in the performance of their duties
hereunder",
be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:

expenses incurred in the performance of their duties hereunder".
PASSED and ADOPTED this 4th day of June, 1980.
