A RESOLUTION CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING ON RECOMMENDATION
OF THE PLANNING BOARD TO AMEND ZONING ORDINANCE 1891
REGARDING DEFINITIONS, GENERAL ZONING REGULATIONS, AND
SPECIFIC ZONING REGULATIONS FOR PARTICULAR ZONING
DISTRICTS.
WHEREAS, the Planning Board of the City of Miami Beach, Florida at a
Public Hearing held on May 29, 1980, approved proposed amendments to the City's
Zoning Ordinance No. 1891, concerning: a definition of dormitory and filing
fees for application to the Planning Board; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Board of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, at a
Public Hearing held on September 4, 1980, approved proposed amendments to the City's
Zoning Ordinance No. 1891 regarding: the removal of the density bonus for hotels
and motels in RM-60 multiple family medium density districts and in C-1 neighborhood
business districts; the addition of a parking space requirement for dormitory; and
the location of loading spaces in the required front yard setback, and
WHEREAS, the Planning Board of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, at a
Public Hearing held on September 25, 1980, approved proposed amendments to the City's
Zoning Ordinance No. 1891 regarding: permitted and conditional uses in RM-60
multiple family density districts, RM-100 multiple family medium high density
districts, RM-125 multiple family high density district; the permission of compact
vehicle parking spaces; the s'..ze of compact vehicle parking spaces; and the provi-
sion of Planning Board composition, eligibility, meetings and procedures, and powers
and duties; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Board of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, at a
Public Hearing on November 20, 1980, approved proposed amendments to the City's
Zoning Ordinance No. 1891 regarding: conditional uses in the RM-60 multiple family
medium density district, RM-100 multiple family medium high density district, RM-125
multiple family high density district; the height of the pedestal portion of a
building; the addition of a definition of automobile parking lot, open, unenclosed,
non-commerical; conditional uses in the RS-1, RS-2, RS-3, and RS-4 single family
residential districts, RM-14 multiple family low density district; the uses subject
to site plan approval in the PUD planned unit development district; conditional uses
in the C-1 neighborhood business district, C-2 general office district, C-4 business
district, C-5 general business district, C-6 intensive commercial district, MR
recreation district; the specific enumeration of conditional uses in Section 7-1
conditional uses; the maximum lot coverage for multiple family zoning districts;
and
WHEREAS, said action of the Planning Board has been duly transmitted
to the City Commission pursuant to Section 16 of said Ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that a Public Hearing for the consideration of the
said proposed amendments to said Zoning Ordinance is hereby called to be held
before the City Commission at its Chambers on the Third Floor of City Hall, 1700
Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach, Florida beginning at 4:00 PM on the 17th day
of June , 1981, and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed
to publish appropriate Public Notice of said Public Hearing to be published in a
newspaper of general circulation in the City of Miami Beach, at which time and
place all interested parties will be heard.
