A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ENCOURAGING THE
STATE OF FLORIDA, DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION,
TO MEET WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF THE CITY
ADMINISTRATION, MR. NEAL D. ALPER, AND OTHER
PROMINENT AND CONCERNED CITIZENS OF THIS CITY
TO DISCUSS THE ARTHUR GODFREY ROAD DRAINAGE
SYSTEM RECENTLY CONSTRUCTED BY THE STATE OF
FLORIDA, AS WELL AS THE ADEQUACY OF PUBLIC
PARKING FACILITIES IN AND ABOUT THE ARTHUR
GODFREY ROAD COMMERCIAL DISTRICT.
WHEREAS , the State of Florida, Department of
Transportation, recently constructed a system to assure the proper
drainage of water which may, from time to time, accumulate in and
about the Arthur Godfrey Road commercial district; and
WHEREAS, Mr . Neal D. Alper , the 41st Street Merchants '
Association, and other concerned and prominent citizens, have
expressed concern regarding the efficacy of this system; and
WHEREAS , concerns have also been expressed regarding the
adequacy of public parking facilities in this area; and
WHEREAS , government which serves the people shares their
concerns,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that a meeting be arranged
between Mr . Steve L. Fuller , Deputy District Engineer , State of
Florida Department of Transportation, and representatives of the
City Administration, Mr . Neal D. Alper , representatives of the
41st Street Merchants ' Association, and other prominent and
concerned citizens of this City to discuss the Arthur Godfrey Road
drainage system and the adequacy of public parking facilities in
and about the Arthur Godfrey Road commercial district.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 5th day of October, 1983 .
