RESOLUTION NO. 83-17515
A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE ADOPTED BUDGET
FOR THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, FOR THE
FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING ON THE 1ST DAY OF
OCTOBER, 1983, AND ENDING ON THE 30TH DAY OF
SEPTEMBER, 1984.
BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach has ascertained
that an amendment of $710,351 in appropriations is needed to carry on the government of
the City of Miami Beach and to defray its expenses and liabilities for the year 1983/84. This
amount to be added to the adopted budget for fiscal year 1983/84 for the City of Miami
Beach, Florida. The monies enumerated in Commission Memo No. 693-83 Rev.II be and
the same are accordingly hereby appropriated for the purposes therein set forth.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the proposed budget amendment be and the same is hereby
adopted as an amendment to the official budget of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, for the
fiscal year 1983/84.

SUBJECT: URGENT RESTORATIONS TO THE 1983/84 CITY BUDGET
Following adoption of the 1983/84 budget with a total of $78,800,000, an exhaustive and
painstaking review was made of all budget requests department by department. The
resulting $4,060,755 cut, in many cases, caused severe curtailment of programs. The
following amounts reflect the most urgently needed budget restorations:

ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION:
The Administration recommends that the accompanying resolution be adopted restoring
$710,351 in appropriations and increasing the revenue withdrawal from available fund
balance by $710,351.
