RESOLUTION NO. 83-17597
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING
EXERCISE OF THE CITY'S OPTIONS WITH FLAGSHIP
NATIONAL BANK OF MIAMI ; REAPPROPRIATION OF
$144 ,000 FOR THE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE LOTS ;
AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE THE FINAL PURCHASE AND SALES CONTRACTS
IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL CURRENT OPTION
CONTRACTS AND STATE REQUIREMENTS .
WHEREAS, on November 16 , 1983, the City Commission
approved dividing the Save our Coast North Shore parcel into two
parcels; and
WHEREAS , the City accepted the Florida Cabinet
conditions as set forth at the September 20 , 1983 Florida Cabinet
Meeting; and
WHEREAS, eminent domain proceedings have been authorized
for the properties between 77th Street and 79th Street east of
Collins Avenue; and
WHEREAS , the Florida Cabinet has given final approval to
the acquisition of the revised North Shore Parcel and has
authorized the immediate release of $2 . 2 million toward the
project; and
WHEREAS the Florida Department of Natural Resource has
been authorized to exercise its options with the City of Miami
Beach,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH that the City Commission authorize the
exercising of the City' s options with Flagship National Bank of
Miami; reappropriate $144 ,000 as outlined in the Commission
Memorandum dated December 21, 1983 entitled, "Appropriation of
Funds toward North Shore (Save our Coast) Acquisition" ; and
authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute necessary final
purchase and sale contracts in accordance with all current option
contracts and State requirements.
