A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY AND RECEIVE GRANT
FUNDS UNDER THE FLORIDA RECREATION DEVEL-
OPMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR THE ISLAND
VIEW PARK AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO RETAIN PROFESSIONAL APPRAISAL SERVICES IN
AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $5 ,000. 00 TO COM-
PLETE AN APPRAISAL OF THE PROJECT SITE AS
REQUIRED BY CHAPTER 16D-5. 22 (5) (B) OF THE
FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
RULES AND REGULATIONS.
WHEREAS, on October 19 , 1983 the City Commission
approved using the 3 . 3 acre Island View Property as recreational
park land; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission allocated $207 ,200 toward
the proposed $743 ,600 park development costs, leaving $536 ,400
unfunded; and
WHEREAS, the Administration has investigated potential
State and Federal Grant Programs which could supply funding for
part of the remaining unfunded Island View Park development
costs; and
WHEREAS, the development of this property as recrea-
tional park land would benefit the City and the residents there-
of;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COM-
MISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
That the City Manager is authorized to apply and
receive grant funds under the Florida Recreation Development
Assistance Programa for the Island View Park and to retain pro-
fessional appraisal services in an amount not to exceed
$5 ,000. 00 to complete an appraisal of the project site as
required by Chapter 16D-5. 22 (5) (b) of the Florida Department of
Natural Resources Rules and Regulations. -
