RESOLUTION CALLING- HEARING TO CONSIDER REQUEST `BY CHEEZEM DEVELOPERS
THAT THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED STREETS, LYING AND BEING
IN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF MIAMI BEACH, AND BEING INLET BOULEVARD
A 30 FOOT RIGHT-OF-WAY AS SHOWN IN THE SOUTH BEACH PARK SUB-
DIVISION ALL SOUTH OF BISCAYNE STREET AND RECORDED IN PLAT BOOK
6 AT PAGE 77 OF THE PUBLIC RECORDS OF DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AND
COLLINS AVENUE SOUTH OF BISCAYNE STREET AN 80 FOOT RIGHT-OF-WAY
AS SHOWN IN SOUTH BEACH PARK SUBDIVISION ALL SOUTH OF BISCAYNE
STREET RECORDED IN PLAT BOOK 6 AT PAGE 77 OF THE PUBLIC RECORDS
OF DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, BE CLOSED AND VACATED AND THAT PUBLIC
UTILITIES BE RELOCATED.
WHEREAS the developer of the owner of property east and west of Collins
Avenue south of Biscayne Street has proposed a development that necessitates
closing of Collins Avenue and Inlet Boulevard as indicated above to accommodate
their development; and
WHEREAS the developer has agreed to pay for the relocation of City
owned utilities; and
WHEREAS the developer has agreed to give required access from Washington
Avenue to the City's South Pointe Park; and
WHEREAS the developer has agreed to dedicate 40 feet of the easterly end
of Block 8 to increase the right-of-way of Washington Avenue from 60 feet to
40 feet; and
WHEREAS the developer has agreed to dedicate 50 feet of the westerly
portion of Block 8 to accommodate future bay walk between the Marina and South
Pointe Park; and
WHEREAS the developer has agreed to perform all the requirements contained
in the developer's agreement with the City of Miami Beach.
WHEREAS the City Commission is desirous to redevelop South Pointe; and
WHEREAS the City Commission has determined that the closing of these
streets would be essential for the development of this area and enhance the tax
rolls, as well as the overall assessment of South Pointe.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH: That a public hearing be held on Wednesday, October 3, 1984, at
3:00 o'clock p.m. to consider request of Cheezem Developers -
That the following described land lying and being within the corporate limits
of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, and being Inlet Boulevard a 30 foot right-
of-way as shown in the South Beach Park subdivision all south of Biscayne Street
and recorded in plat book 6 at page 77 of the public records of Dade County, Florida,
and Collins Avenue south of Biscayne Street an 80 foot right-of-way as shown in
South Beach Park subdivision all south of Biscayne Street recorded in plat book 6
at page 77 of the public records of Dade County, Florida, be closed and vacated
and that public utilities be relocated.
