A RESOLUTION PROPOSING JOINT DISCUSSIONS
BETWEEN METROPOLITAN DADE COUNTY, THE CITY OF
MIAMI , THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AND ANY OTHER
INTERESTED CITIES TO DETERMINE THE FEASIBILITY
OF JOINTLY CREATING A COUNTY WIDE PUBLIC
FACILITIES AUTHORITY.
WHEREAS, Miami Attorney Martin Fine presented to the
City Commission his proposal regarding the creation of a
County-wide Public Facilities Authority for the purpose of
building, owning, promoting and managing such infrastructure as
buildings, facilities and improvements which fulfill a public use
and purpose concept and are deemed necessary for carrying out
broad community objectives; and
WHEREAS , the City Commission has had an opportunity to
consider Attorney Fine' s proposal; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that such a
proposal should be further pursued by the appropriate governmental
entities for general welfare of the public.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the City of Miami Beach
endorses Metropolitan Dade County, in cooperation and conjunction
with the City of Miami , the City of Miami Beach and any other
interested cities, in considering the feasibility of jointly
creating a county-wide Public Facilities Authority for the purpose
of building, owning, promoting and managing such infrastructure as
buildings, facilities and improvements which fulfull a public use
and purpose concept and are deemed necessary for carrying out
broad community objectives.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 6th day of February, 1985.
